Humbugs look away now, as the demand for London Christmas parties has doubled when compared to the same point last year.
That’s according to figures released today by Eventa, one of the country’s leading organisers of office Christmas parties. The figures suggest that 2009 was a slow year for Christmas parties and London Christmas parties (often being the most expensive) in particular, due in no small part to the squeeze on company finances and the reining in of excess spend.
Things took an upward turn again in 2010 as companies sought to make up for the belt-tightening previous year, thanking employees for their patience in the process. The trend looks set to continue across the board this year, the capital seemingly leading the way when it comes to weird, wonderful and totally unique 2011 Christmas parties.
Eventa CEO Rob Hill says,
“We’ve been in touch with some great new venues this year that make ideal settings for London Christmas parties and it seems they are coming up with really interesting themes too. For example, we’re listing a series of Christmas parties held at the top of the Gherkin, as well as on a 42-acre estate next to the River Thames. I think companies are after something a bit special, hence the increased demand this year.”
The figures also reveal that as budgets become available again, many companies are opting for exclusive Christmas parties, enabling them to have an entire events space to themselves.
